ABOUT THE COURSE

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Somaliland is delighted to present a one-day CPD course on accounting for investment properties. The course will be covering the International Accounting Standard 40 (IAS 40) and International Public Sector Accounting Standard (IPSAS 16). This online course aims to enhance participants' understanding of accounting and reporting for investment properties in both private and public sectors.

Overview of IAS 40 and IPSAS 16: introduction to the purpose, scope, and objectives of the standards.
Recognition Criteria: explanation of the criteria for recognizing investment property under IAS 40 and IPSAS 16.
Measurement Methods: comparison of the fair value model and the cost model allowed under IAS 40 and IPSAS 16.
Comparison with Accounting for Property, Plant and Equipment under IAS 16.
Disclosure Requirements: exploring disclosure requirements related to investment property under both standards.
